UUC's Climate Action Team is pleased to announce that our October 11 Second Sunday Plate will go to 350Seattle.

Its mission is “to work toward climate justice by organizing people to make deep systems change: resisting fossil fuels; building momentum for healthy alternatives; and fostering resilient, just, and welcoming communities.”

Each action is considered through the lens of climate justice: “We recognize the long history of environmental injustices perpetrated on communities of color and low-income communities, and will accept no ‘solutions’ that fail to protect these communities.”

Many teams of leaders and volunteers make up 350Seattle. The Civic Action Team focuses on the Washington state legislative session. Subteams take on policy, research, data management, operations, composing action alerts, and communication to inform the public. Volunteers are welcome. The leaders teach you what you need to know. Here’s a recap of the 2026 legislative session, which also includes a look forward to goals for 2027.

350Seattle is one of eleven local groups that make up 350 WA. 350Seattle and 350 WA are financially and legally independent of 350.org, which operates nationally and globally.
