YOUNG CHILDREN
(6 mos. - Preschool)
On Sundays in the summer, Sprouts Care is available for the youngest in our community during the service in the Potter Room, as usual. Children going into Kindergarten in the fall are invited to get familiar with the other classrooms and trying playing with older kids, by joining in on the creative free-play happening for elementary-age children in the Alcott Room. Read below for information about what is typically available for young children at UUC in during the regular church year (September - June).
Sprouts Care: 6 mos - PreK
Sunday mornings, 9:30 & 11:15 am
Quality and loving childcare during the service is provided by
Jasmin Capestany and Sarah Bullock, UUC’s Childcare Providers. Young children begin to experience some of our core Unitarian Universalist rituals through snack time, stories, music, and play.
Saplings: PreK - Kindergarten
Sunday mornings, 9:30 am
With the help of our friend, Ellery Churchmouse, young children gather to explore spiritual vocabulary and aspects of church life. Their time together art, stories, games, and creative free-play.
This group primarily uses activities from "Ellery Churchmouse" by JLK Shattuck and Kathy Smith. Activities from
Soul Matters are be woven into Saplings' Sundays, to keep these kids connected to what is being explored in the wider congregation.
Parent Night Out:
Parent Night Out events are typically offered during the program year, in September - June
Parents of children ages 6 mos. through 5th grades are invited to drop their kiddos off for an evening of creative fun and enjoy a night to themselves! Programming for young children will include free-play, an art or science-related activity, and a children’s movie. Dinner is be provided.
