Come join us for our 50th anniversary Seabeck retreat on Memorial Day weekend, Friday May 22 to Monday May 25. This year we are excited to have our presenter Bowen Lee lead us through an adventure of storytelling. New this year, we are planning a children and youth activity center for our young campers.
What is Seabeck? It is our annual 3-day retreat over Memorial Day weekend, with fellow Unitarians at the beautiful Seabeck Conference Center on Hood Canal with amazing views of the Olympic Mountains. Along with great food and connections with fellow UUs there is the morning program with Bowen Lee and a variety of workshops throughout the rest of the day led by fellow campers. It is always a memorable event for the whole family…and your friends! And it's a great way to get more connected with members of UU congregations in the Puget Sound/Salish Sea region.

The Retreat doesn't usually fill up right away, but if you register early, you have the greatest number of housing choices (type and price). If you run into any trouble registering, please email Nicole at membership@esuc.org or call her at 425-686-8116. (Please note that as of this writing, the East Shore office phones are temporarily not reliable, so you may want to use email if possible.)
Discounted camperships are available, and there are still opportunities to serve as lead volunteers and teachers. Please reach out to doug.strombom@gmail.com to see if there's a fit. BTW, there will be an opportunity for everyone to volunteer for a camp role in a few weeks.
The Seabeck Retreat is great for families and kids, with three playgrounds, a treehouse, a beach, and kid-friendly meals. The location is very safe, and many parents feel comfortable letting their kids roam the grounds—giving many kids an experience of adventure and freedom they may not be used to in the city. Friendships are made and renewed each year during the retreat. There are morning programs for children and youth while adults (and any youth who want) will join Bowen Lee. (Or parents can just choose to have some time for themselves in the mornings, hiking in the woods to enjoy the wild rhododendrons, exploring the beach, or just sitting and reading or visiting.)
