In the Larger Community: Family Caregivers Support Program

Caregivers Wisdom Support Group Forming

Are you (or someone you know) caring for someone with major physical or mental health needs? Caregiving is a precious gift, but one that is also often difficult. Caregivers are often physically and emotionally drained by the routine tasks, physical demands, social isolation, and worry experienced daily.

The Caregiver Wisdom Support Program, offered by Shoreline Unitarian Universalist Church, and recommended by UUC's Care Team and Rev. Victoria, is here to help. It will provide an opportunity to share with other caregivers what you have learned about how to be helpful and hear about resources, skills, and useful steps that have eased the burdens of others. Our no-fee group(s) will meet weekly via Zoom, with one optional in-person meeting monthly. The program will be facilitated by psychologist Dr. Richard Stuart, who is a member of the Swedish/Edmonds Hospital medical staff, and clinical professor emeritus (Psychiatry), at the University of Washington.

If you would like to join a group, or know someone who might benefit from one, please fill out this short form or contact us at surrogateandcaregiversupport@shorelineuu.org.
