And "30 Days of Love": January 19–February 16
UUC's Acting for Racial Justice Team invites you to join our vigil outside the church to demonstrate our commitment to Dr. King's vision of Beloved Community as we show that we "Side with Love."
Let us come together in community on Sunday, January 18, by the Memorial Garden entrance between services, from 10:30ish to 11:00.
We will share a reading, proceed to the sidewalk with our "Side with Love" signs (you may bring your own sign that upholds UU values of community, diversity, justice, and generosity; focus is on our faith based values, not current politics), and sing some songs to show the community our fierce love. We have some "Side with Love" signs for you to keep and perhaps bring to the MLK March on Monday, January 19, at 12:30 p.m. starting at Garfield High School.
The team also encourages you to engage in the
Side with Love: 30 Days of Love:
Love At The Center: Reimagining the World As It Could Be - Monday, January 19, through Monday, February 16
"At a time when fear, violence, and extraction dominate our politics and our planet, we practice another way. We believe love is not fragile; it is fierce. It grounds our organizing, fuels our imagination, and sustains our communities. Over five weeks, we will move through a journey from imagination to action, rooting our freedom dreams in faith and bringing them to life in our world.
"Each week, we will have a written reflection from Side With Love staff; a conversation with a UU theologian; a multigenerational family activity; reflection questions for journaling; a meditative body practice; and a coloring sheet connected to the weekly theme."
