MLK March and Rally

Connect with others in the UUC community to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy of building the Beloved Community.


Join members of UUC's Acting for Racial Justice Team to participate in Seattle’s 43rd Annual Celebration organized by the MLK Coalition: Workshops, Rally, and March at Garfield High - https://www.seattlemlkcoalition.org/mlk-day. This year's theme is: “Where Do We Go From Here?



12:30 p.m. - March starts at Garfield HS Parking Lot

Since 1983 UUC members who want to honor Dr. Martin Luther King’s legacy (as well as our church’s legacy in fighting for racial justice) have marched together as a church contingent in the Seattle MLK Coalition's March from Garfield High School through parts of Seattle. It's a joyous and inspiring event.  

Meet on the upper terrace above the flag poles at Garfield High at 12:30 p.m. 

If you have Side With Love signs or clothing, show them proudly!

“This is Where We Go From Here” Youth Event at 4 p.m., Washington Hall, 153 14th Ave.


Monday, January 19: Garfield High School, 400 23rd Ave.

  • 8:30-11:30 a.m. Opportunity Fair
  • 9:30-10:45 a.m. Workshops
  • Connect and learn with others in the larger community regarding why we march and what skills we need to live into Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s dream of Beloved Community.   • 11 a.m. Rally in the Gym   This rally is an excellent opportunity to get excited and inspired about working together to live out our UU values with Love at the Center in the larger community!
