Sunday, February 15, after each service
This Sunday, you're invited to learn more about the Unitarian Universalist Service Committee (UUSC) and its work advancing human rights and social justice around the world. Stop by the UUSC learning station in Nathan Johnson Hall between services and after second service. UUSC partners with those who confront unjust power structures, welcoming all UUs to join them in building a more equitable world. And connected to our UU principles, that work is grounded in the belief that all people have inherent power and dignity.
Centering the experiences of people most affected by injustice, UUSC follows the lead of the communities most impacted by injustice. UUSC partners with grassroots groups to advance human rights in the United States and around the world, working alongside partners to foster and implement community-led solutions. With roots in helping Jewish people flee Nazi Europe in the 1930s and 1940s, UUSC has been showing up for communities facing injustice and oppression for over 80 years. UUSC's current areas of work include:
- Protecting migrants and asylum seekers
- https://www.uusc.org/congregation-hub/pink-haven-coalition/, as a partner with UUC's Pink Haven group
- Confronting the climate crisis with partners around the world
To learn more about UUSC, stop by the learning station this Sunday. You are also welcome to reach out to Dave Mentz or Pam Smith Mentz to learn more.
