Worship services at 9:30 and 11:15 a.m. in the chapel and via live stream

Rev. Michael Walker will lead the services. Sermon title: "Wandering in the Wilderness." Aria Curtis will offer a Time for All Ages. Rev. Doug Wadkins will assist. Music by the Bell and Loft Choirs; Chris Rule, bass; and Dwight Beckmeyer, piano.

We will begin with a Time For All Ages. Children and teens will start out in the chapel with their parents/caregivers. They'll stay for the first 15-20 minutes of the service and then will be invited to their different groups in the Children's Suite or downstairs. We ask that parents/caregivers of very young children or new/visiting families accompany their children to the Children's Suite.

From Rev. Walker:

Our culture has often used the metaphor of wandering in the wilderness (not least of which, the one about ‘40 days and 40 nights’.) Are we stuck in our wandering, not knowing what we should do next? Is there no hope of ever reaching our destination, of ever achieving our goals? Do we have it in us to decide to stop wandering, and if so, do we know when and where that wandering should cease? That is to say: what are we trying to achieve, and will we recognize it once we have done so?

Bio: Rev. Michael Walker moved to the Olympic Peninsula in July 2023 for family reasons, although he has lived in the PNW before. He was introduced to UUism in the mid-90s, and is also involved in Pagan/Earth-Centered Spirituality, with inspirations and practices from Zen Buddhism. Mike attended seminary at Pacific School of Religion, was ordained as a UU minister in 2010, and has served as an Interim Minister at churches all over the country. He went on hiatus from parish ministry in order to complete a PhD in Clinical Psychology, and he is currently engaged in dissertation research about religious trauma, while also working as a psychotherapist in Port Angeles. Mike is a member of the Quimper UU Fellowship in Port Townsend.

Sunday worship at UUC includes music, reflection, sermon, and connection, with informal Coffee & Conversations afterwards in Nathan Johnson Hall. UUC Worship Services are also live streamed.
