In the Larger Community: Two UUSC Events

Thursday, March 19, 7:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. online

This week, the Unitarian Universalist Service Committee (UUSC) staff join partners for the 70th United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW70). This annual gathering convenes governments to focus on gender justice. UUSC highlights our call to action—we must ensure and strengthen access to justice for all women and girls.

With Heather Vickery from UUSC joining us in the pulpit last month to encourage us to both resist and remain joyful, followed by our Fleagle Lecture & Workshop on Joyful Resistance and Non-Compliance, you are invited to two UUSC virtual events next week:

Faith Based Strategies for Gender Justice

Thursday, March 19, 2026 | 11:30am PT
In recent decades, movements advancing gender equality and the rights of LGBTQI+ people have made powerful, hard-won progress across the world. Yet today, these gains face unprecedented backlash. Hear a conversation about how faith and gender justice movements can unite to create a more inclusive and just future.
Register here. If you like gather a few UUC friends so you could consider how we might lift up gender justice in a more organized way.

UUSC partners with those who confront unjust power structures, welcoming all UUs to join them in building a more equitable world. For over 80 years, UUSC has been centering the experiences of people most affected by injustice and partnering with grassroots groups to advance human rights. That work is grounded in the belief that all people have inherent power and dignity. If you'd like to learn more about UUSC, you are welcome to reach out to Dave Mentz or Pam Smith Mentz to learn more.
