Grief Support Group

Wednesday, May 6—Wednesday, June 10, by registration

If you are experiencing grief resulting from loss within the past 2 years, we welcome you to join us. Together we will bear witness to one another’s journeys and offer compassion and love. We offer a reminder that loss is not only due to death, but it can also come in other forms such as illness, divorce, and many more. This group is by registration only.

Please note that this is a social support group facilitated by caring volunteers. This is not a mental health treatment or therapy group. If you are in need of professional support, please contact Rev. Victoria for resources.

Shyloh McGill, a newcomer to UUC and an experienced sharing circle facilitator, and Erik Browne, a member of University Unitarian and a UU minister aspirant, will guide this six-week long grief support group on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m., May 6–June 10, 2026.

Source material for the sessions will include a range of writings and practices, including Ambiguous Loss, by Pauline Boss and Wild Edge of Sorrow, by Francis Wellers.

Participation will be limited to 9 members in order to develop and deepen a sense of community care within the group. Participants commit to attending the full six-week offering to keep the experience cohesive for everyone. Of course, sometimes things happen that can’t be avoided. A facilitator will reach out to confirm your participation in the group.
