Starting this Sunday, May 17, the UUC Bookstore will be moving to a donation-based system.
Why are we changing our system?
By offering books on a donation basis, UUC lives into its values of equity and justice by reducing economic barriers to literature. We want everyone in our community to have access to the books in the bookstore, regardless of socio-economic status.
How will it work?
When you go to the UUC Bookstore to get a book, you will select the book you want and tell the bookstore volunteer which title(s) you are taking. It's as easy as that! If you have the means, we encourage you to donate cover price. This will help cover books for folks who cannot donate as much.
How do I donate?
Donations can be made using the donation box in the bookstore, the offering plate during Sunday services, text-to-donate, or using the giving link on our website. All donations are gratefully received.
Will this cost UUC money?
No, UUC will actually be saving money by letting go of the credit card machine in the bookstore.
If you have any questions, or would like to volunteer on Sunday mornings in the bookstore, please email morgan.sherwood@uuchurch.org.
