Sunday, May 11, both services (9:30 and 11:15 a.m.)
UUC’s Second Sunday Plate collections serve as a direct expression of our faith through justice and service work. This month's dedicated plate will benefit the Washington Immigrant Solidarity Network(WAISN), a coalition of immigrant-led organizations and individuals, working together to advance the rights, dignity and power of immigrants and refugees in Washington.
At a time when attacking immigrant communities is happening daily, it is even more critical to support WAISN, and their commitment to defending immigrant communities from deportation while advocating for meaningful, systemic change. WAISN has been building power to advocate for change since 2017, leading to several statewide protections. You can read their 2025–26 policy platform here. There are over 1.2 million immigrants and 30,000 refugees in Washington state. WAISN strives to strengthen these communities. They offer many resources for immigrants navigating complex and often confusing systems and for allies interested in offering support.
On May 11 you'll have a chance to learn more about WAISN's work and its relationship to UUC's long history of working for immigrant justice.
