Everyone is welcome to join the conversation about “abundance.” What does the book Abundance have to teach us and the left in the US? Is this the answer to the Republican Party’s Project 2025?
The recently published book Abundance by Derek Thomson and Ezra Klein is a powerful critique of the left by the left. In the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s, millions of homes were being built in the US. Now there is a massive national housing shortage, especially in blue states and cities. Many key blue cities have large amounts of homelessness. Why? Many blue states including Washington and California are failing to build a green infrastructure including high speed rail, while red states like Texas are going gangbusters with alternative energy. How could this possibly be happening? This book offers a radical re-envisioning of America based on abundance rather than scarcity.
All perspectives willingly discussed! More and more people are attending our sessions, so we’ve made arrangements to break into smaller groups if need be.
Whether or not you join us, you are welcome to read more about the arguments and questions the book raises in the Dialogue Group’s online page.
The 4th Principle Dialogue Group promotes the “free & responsible search for truth & meaning,” pursuing the congregational goal of Connected Community. We get to know each other and connect to each other through meaningful, open-hearted dialogue. Drop-ins welcome. Homework not required. See more in UU Connect.
