The election of 2024 was a shocker, so let’s share our thoughts on what happened. Trump won the popular vote for the first time. Millions of African Americans who had voted for Biden in 2020 did not vote for Harris in 2024. In a first, more Hispanic men voted for the Republican presidential candidate than for the Democrat. Now that Trump is in office again, important gains, such as on climate action and trans rights, are being rolled back. What have we seen that’s led our nation to these election outcomes? Opinions vary, and we’d like to hear your opinions on the matter.
To prepare for the meeting, you’re invited to review this Pew Research election 2024 study, although homework is not required. If you want to dive deeper, you can also review this report on “What Happened in 2024”.
