Weddings

Thank you for considering University Unitarian Church as the site for your wedding. The award-winning mid-century architecture of Paul Hayden Kirk (fully renovated in 2019) contributes to the memorable quality of any event and provides a welcoming space for you to share your special occasion with friends and family.


UUC is proud to offer a low-cost space for weddings to past UUC members and family of current members and friends. The UUC chapel is ideal for a ceremony. With seats for up to 300 guests, the chapel is also entirely suitable for smaller gatherings. The sanctuary has sound systems for microphones and recorded music. Due to limited staff capacity, receptions must be held offsite. UUC is a Welcoming Congregation and is proud to affirm and celebrate LGBTQ+ weddings.

Planning Your Ceremony

Have you visited UUC? If not, we encourage you to contact the office at

(206) 525-8400 to arrange a visit to see the facilities for yourself, and to

discuss your general plans. Appointments can be made for Monday

through Thursday.


The office staff will connect you with a UUC minister or community minister who will officiate your ceremony. The officiating minister will also help you coordinate with the church's pianist and custodial staff.



Fees

The fee for a wedding at University Unitarian Church is $1,500.  Resources available to you for your wedding are the following:


  • the services of a UUC or community minister for the ceremony
  • the services of the church's pianist or a substitute musician during the ceremony
  • the chapel for a rehearsal and ceremony
  • the services of the church's custodial staff for setup of the chapel prior to your ceremony (chairs and tables only)
  • a private room downstairs for dressing and securing personal items during your event
