Welcome to University Unitarian Church! We are so glad that you have joined us this morning. We hope that you find here a congregation that awakens spirit, nourishes hope, and inspires action. Below you will find more information about what to expect this morning.
Sunday Services
We hold services every Sunday at 9:30 am and 11:15 am. Sunday services include readings and reflections from our ministers, as well as live music. Each Sunday is different here, so we encourage you to come back a few times to get to know us. For a more embodied spiritual experience, our Soul Work Table can be found on the right side of the chapel. This table has a variety of art supplies and creative ways to engage with the theme of the service. We also have a fidget cart at the back of the chapel with items for hands that like to be busy. Please feel free to help yourself to any of the items at the Soul Work Table or on the fidget cart.
If today finds you struggling with life’s burdens, a member of the Care Team is available near the candles after the worship service today as on each Sunday, to offer a kind word and a listening ear.
Family Ministry
Many children enjoy attending services in the chapel with their families. Click here for a Social Story about going to church on Sunday. We believe that multigenerational participation strengthens our community and we embrace all ages in our Sunday worship. The Soul Work Table and the fidget cart can be helpful for busy minds and bodies. We also have a variety of programming for children and youth who prefer not to remain in the chapel:
Sprouts (6 mo-Pre-K): 9:30 and 11:15 (Upstairs in Potter)
Saplings (PreK-K): 9:30-10:45 (Upstairs in Bridges)
Stepping Stones (1st-5th grade): 9:30-10:45 (Upstairs in Alcott)
Roots (K-2nd grade): 11:15-12:30 (Upstairs in Alcott)
Wings (3rd-5th grade): 11:15-12:30 (Upstairs in Bridges)
World Religions: 11:15-12:15 (Downstairs in King)
Getting Connected After the Service
Our congregation is a vibrant web of communities and there are lots of ways to get involved. After each service, there is an Information Session downstairs in the Dix Room. During this session, a Connections Volunteer will give you more information about our congregation and the many ways to engage. Bring your coffee and questions!
We encourage you to
click this link and fill out our
Connections Form. A Connections volunteer will follow up to get you connected with groups that interest you.
After each service, there is a social
coffee hour just past the chapel doors in Nathan Johnson Hall. This is a great opportunity to enjoy snacks and get to talk with members of our community. We are excited to get to know you!
Questions?
Stop by the office downstairs or email our Congregational Engagement Coordinator, Morgan Sherwood. We would love to talk with you about UUC and ways to get connected to our community.
