We welcome all ages to participate in UUC’s Faith in Action collaboration with Teen Feed in creating hygiene kits for unhoused youth in King County. This includes a supply drive of household hygiene items that many take for granted.
UUC has partnered with Teen Feed for over 20 years, with volunteers preparing 18 meals over the course of each year for teens who are facing food insecurity. This has made a powerful and lasting impact that began with nurses from UW Medical Center and their care for the youth living on the streets and is now intertwined with many neighborhood groups. Their mission has always been to meet teens where they are—giving nearly 70 teens each night the opportunity for a warm meal at local sites. This event will give you the opportunity to support our larger community as well.
Suggested Items for Donation (Travel-Sized):
- Scented soaps
- Lotions or facial creams
- Individually wrapped snacks
- Other travel-sized hygiene essentials
To witness Teen Feed’s work to disrupt the widespread youth homelessness in King County is an incredibly empowering and humbling experience. We look forward to seeing you at our hygiene kit assembly so that UUC may continue to do what we can to uplift our community.
