Sunday, February 22, after each service
Are you a driver with more room in your car? Or could you yourself use a ride to church? Are you interested in reducing UUC’s carbon footprint by having fewer cars on the road on Sunday mornings? The mutual aid working group is starting a small pilot to experiment with connecting people to share rides to church. Look for the Share-A-Ride table during UUC's Resilience Engagement Fair on February 22 after each service.
At our table you can add a pin to our "interest" board to show generally where someone lives who is interested in giving or getting a ride, and see zip code maps showing generally where our church members live. You can also add your name and general neighborhood to a signup sheet to show your more specific interest. For our first experiment we envision connecting driver/rider pairs or a small group who either live near each other or are on their way to church. We will ask that drivers commit to a goal of offering a ride at least once a month. We will also ask for feedback from riders and drivers about what’s working and what is not, so we can change course as needed. Current members of the working group include Jane Howard, Leah Evison and Ian Mosher. If you can’t make it to the February 22 service, you can email your interest to Leah Evison at evistonepath@gmail.com or Jane Howard at janehoward55@gmail.com. We welcome your input!
