Second Sunday Plate to UU the Vote

Sunday, June 14

UUC’s Second Sunday Plate collections serve as a direct expression of our faith through justice and service work. This month's plate will go to UU the Vote, a program of the UUA's Side with Love campaign.

If you are concerned about election safety and security, and wanting to support “Get Out the Vote” efforts across the US, please donate generously during (or after) the 10 a.m. service on June 14, 2026.

From the UU the Vote website:

Our faith calls us to act. Democracy needs us to show up.

Unitarian Universalists have always understood that the right to vote is sacred, that every person’s voice carries inherent worth and dignity. In 2026, that conviction is being tested. The difference between a democracy that holds and one that doesn’t won’t just be who shows up to vote. It will be whether the organizations doing the work on the ground have what they need to operate.

That’s what the UU the Vote Solidarity Fund is for.

We are building resistance on the ground and democratic infrastructure, registering voters, supporting civic participation, connecting communities to the ballot, and funding the partners who make it possible. None of it happens without sustained support. When you pledge, you’re not just making a donation. You’re living our values out loud. You’re helping build the partnerships, the technology, and the staying power that protecting democracy actually requires. You’re answering the call our tradition has always placed on us.

The time for watching is over. The time for building is now.

Watch for future UUC UU the Vote articles to learn more about our work here in the Seattle area, including an upcoming visit to the King County Elections Office on July 22 and Reclaim Our Vote postcard writing to Southern states. We appreciate your support for this valuable work!
