November Second Sunday Plate to LCP

Sunday, November 8, both services

Our November Second Sunday Plate will go to Lake City Partners (LCP). For nearly 20 years, they have been providing shelter and supportive services in the North Seattle/King County area. Today, Lake City Partners is part of a network of non-profit providers, funders, and government agencies working to help people exit homelessness and enter housing in a resilient, sustainable way. Their shared approach is data driven and focused on equitable outcomes. LCP staff work on a one-to-one basis with clients, building relationships that accompany people on their journey—from tent to front door.

Carrie Czarnecki, Development and Client Services Manager, will speak at our services on November 8, and will be available during coffee hours. A Learning Station will offer more information about Lake City Partners and its programs.

Current programs and services offered by LCP include the Aurora Oaks Shelter, Heron Haven Senior Women’s Sheter in Kenmore, GLA Day Center in Lake City, Housing Assistance Points, and a Community Outreach Program.

Donations to the Second Sunday Plate are an opportunity to put our faith into action by supporting social justice and service programs in our larger community.  These donations will support the work of Lake City Partners as  part of their “Opening Doors to Home” year-end fund-raising campaign. Donations may be made to UUC to benefit LCP during the first part of November in cash, by check, via text or electronic transfer, or as Qualified Charitable Donations from an IRA.

UUC has been supporting LCP for the past seven years (or more) through volunteer efforts including sack lunches and dinners, advocacy, periodic drives to collect personal items, and financial support.
