Community Clean-Out

Hi University Unitarian Church community,

Just wanted to send a heartfelt thank you for letting us use your parking lot for our community recycling and donation event last weekend.

Because of your generosity, we saw more than 150 cars drive through. We collected over 1,090 gallons of paint, 1.5 tons of electronics, shredded more than 3,000 pounds of paper, collected 38 giant yard bags of clothing and linens, and multiple donations of food, hygiene items, and reusable water bottles for North Helpline and Mary's Place.

One of my favorite parts of the day was meeting people from the UUC community and the surrounding neighborhoods. Everyone was so upbeat, welcoming, and gracious with our presence there, and it made the whole event feel incredibly positive and connected.

Huge thank you as well to Heather Ferguson and Reverend Justin Almeida for helping bring the idea together.

We’d absolutely love to make this an annual event if it feels like a good fit for your community, too.

Thank you again,

Mel Parsons, Clean-Out Instigator
