Teen Feed and UUC Garden Team Celebrating Harvest

Sunday, September 27, 3-5 p.m. in Nathan Johnson Hall, by sign-up

In June, after much research and planning, UUC's community garden was created. Crews built and planted "pizza garden" troughs, featuring tomatoes, peppers, basil, oregano, chives and green onions. There's also a ground plot with blueberries, broccoli, carrots and zucchini. This project evolved from UUC's Faith Land Initiative work—a way to share some of our land and grow food for those in need, and building upon our long-time partnership with Teen Feed. Teen Feed Meal Teams have already included some of the fresh-picked harvest in their nightly meals.

On September 27 we are going to meet for a pizza making (and eating!) party. You can join in the pizza making, bring some ingredients, help with setup, or just come to eat pizza, if you like. Your sign-up will help plan for the right amount of ingredients, with plenty of pizza for all who attend. We already have some pesto sauce made from basil harvested from the garden!
