Plan Ahead: ARJT Book Discussion

Wednesday, November 18, 7:00–8:30 p.m. in Channing

Please join UUC's Acting for Racial Justice Team for a discussion focusing on developing respectful relationships with our Indigenous kin, based on the book In The Spirit of Right and Respectful Relations: Conversations about Indigenous Ways of Knowing and Being in Nature, as told to Kurt Russo.

What does it mean to be human? What does it mean to be other-than-human? The book, In The Spirit of Right and Respectful Relations, shares history, understandings, and questions to help promote dialogue with Indigenous Peoples and inspire action to support, protect, and restore our region’s imperiled lands, waters, and lifeways. Kurt Russo is the executive director of Se’Si’Le, an Indigenous-led nonprofit dedicated to the perpetuation and practical application of Indigenous ancestral knowledge.

The book is available through Mountaineers Books, Third Place Books, and other independent booksellers, as well as major outlets.

Light snacks will be provided. If you would like childcare, please contact Betty Williams.
