Apply before February 8 for groups meeting March–May, 2026
You may have heard the buzz about how everyone enjoys their Soul Matters bi-monthly reflection groups. About 80 people signed up for three-month fall sessions, and many have decided to continue through May. If you missed the fall signup, UUC's Awakening Spirit Team is delighted to offer another opportunity: new six-session groups will be forming for March-May. The groups will meet twice each month to explore the themes: March: Paying Attention; April: Embracing Possibility; May: Awakening Curiosity.
We use the national UUA Soul Matters curriculum based on monthly themes to support spiritual exploration and deeper connection among members and friends in our congregation. The curriculum is prepared by professional religious educators who work with UU’s across the country to select readings, videos, songs, and spiritual practices that participants can chose from to engage deeply with a different theme each month. During facilitated group meetings, participants share their experiences, listen deeply, and discern how others’ experiences resonate with their own.
Small reflection groups are most fundamentally a means of offering sacred space to each other through the practice of deep listening. This sacred “gift-giving” is at the center of Soul Matters groups. The Soul Matters process differs from other small group models in that it helps participants experience the topics, not just talk about them.
Applications are due by 5:00 p.m. February 8.
