Donate Blood at UUC

Thursday, August 21, 11 a.m.–5 p.m. by appointment in Nathan Johnson Hall

During our summer blood shortage season, there's no better way to show you care than by becoming a blood donor. It takes 1,000 volunteer donors each day to maintain a safe and reliable blood supply for patients in the Pacific Northwest; yet, less than 3% of eligible people donate. Hospitals depend on regular donors to provide lifesaving transfusions for those undergoing surgery, cancer treatment, or living with bleeding disorders. Giving blood is quick and impactful—in under an hour, you can help save a life! (The entire process takes about an hour, but the actual donation only takes around 10 minutes.)

Sign up now to make a blood donation at University Unitarian Church on Thursday, August 21. Sign up at this link or call 1-800-398-7888.

Walk-ins will be seen around scheduled donors; making an appointment is highly encouraged for the best donation experience. (Same-day appointments often available, but we would love to have a full schedule ahead of time!) For safety, we kindly request no visitors under 16 at our donation sites. Eat a hearty meal and drink plenty of fluids prior to donation. No donations 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. (lunch break).

Wondering if you're eligible to donate? You probably are, but check Bloodworks NW's eligibility page: bloodworksnw.org/donate/eligibility.
