UUC member David Balaam, PhD, died August 22, 2025 in his assisted living community. He is survived by his wife, Kristi Hendrickson, daughters Amelie and Claire, and sons Brendan and David. He was 75 years old.

David was a well-respected scholar in his field of International Political Economy, retiring after a long academic career from the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma. He enjoyed playing golf, and enjoyed the music at UUC Sunday services.
