Economic Justice Team Meeting
Sunday, January 22, 12:30 p.m. in King and via Zoom
We are a long way from fulfilling our 2nd UUA principle: Justice, equity and compassion in human relations. An estimated 40,000 people in King County are unsheltered. Washington state continues to rank as the state with the most regressive state and local tax system in the U.S. The effective tax rate for Washington households with low incomes is about 6 times higher than the tax rate for households in the top 1 percent of incomes. Several bills have been introduced in the Washington State legislature that may somewhat reduce the inequity. It’s time to speak up. Please join us. All are welcome.
