“Snippets of My Life,” an exhibit of fabric art by Deborah Ann, opens in the chapel on Sunday, August 21. These colorful, quilted hangings include a wide range of subject matter including landscapes, European architecture, portraits of real people, and animals. Many pieces incorporate hand dyed fabrics. The artist sometimes adds surface designs with pencils, markers, or paint, as well as thread work to accent the piece.

Deborah Ann explains, “There is something special about fabrics and thread; so tactile and easy to be with. It is almost impossible to not want to run your hands over any textile. That’s its nature and draw.”

All fourteen of the pieces are for sale. To learn more, or to purchase a piece, visit the Art Committee Information Station on the west side of Nathan Johnson Hall after the Sunday service.

An Artist Reception will be held on Sunday, September 11, from 1:30–3:00 p.m. The exhibit will be on display through September 30.
