Register for Chalice Camp 2022 Now!
Summer is creeping closer; if you haven’t registered for Chalice Camp 2022 now is the time! In addition to our usual camp programming for children in grades 1–5, we are now opening Chalice Camp up to incoming 6th graders. Children going into 6th grade in fall of 2022 will work together on a special, week-long project, centered on the Camp theme. They will also have some Jr. Counselor responsibilities, like assisting Youth Counselors in leading games, worship, and other activities with children in grades 1–5.
University Unitarian Church’s Chalice Camp is a week-long, summer day camp for elementary-age children. It includes music, art, games, worship and field trips.
This year’s camp will be in-person at UUC and our theme is focused on art and justice. Adapting from a number of resources, including the Learning for Justice curriculum “Art and Activism,” children will explore how artistic expression influences and aids justice movements, and the ways in which we express our Unitarian Universalist beliefs and tradition through art. This will include experimenting with visual arts, music and dance, design, and crafts.
Chalice Camp 2022 runs from Monday, July 18 to Friday, July 22. Our programming begins at 9:00 a.m. and ends at 4:00 p.m. There will also be a special, Chalice Camp service on the Sunday following Camp. Campers may expect to participate in this service on July 24.
Registration for Chalice Camp is $200 per child. Families registering 3 or more children are eligible for a 25% discount. We believe strongly that Chalice Camp should be available to all children who would like to participate. If the cost of Chalice Camp presents a barrier to participation for your family, please contact Aria Curtis about full or partial scholarships.
