Little Did I Know: An Anthology on Loving and Companioning Young Lives, edited by Vanessa Rush Southern

Do you have a Known Teenager in the house and want to help them transition to their next steps, be it high school, part-time job, or college? The Bookstore has Little Did I Know, edited by Vanessa Rush Southern, that contains sage advice for families of all types. The Bookstore also has several volumes that parents and their teens can read together. One is A Most Beautiful Thing, by Arshay Cooper. This true story of the first all-Black high school crew team in the country is a perfect companion to The Boys in the Boat and should tide you over until the movie comes out.

The Bookstore is looking for new faces to help run operations on Sunday mornings. Several of our longtime volunteers are moving onto other adventures. Training is offered. You need not be a math whiz (there’s a calculator and a sales tax table), but enthusiasm for books is a prerequisite. If this is something you’ve long thought about but haven’t acted on, here’s your chance. Email Cindy Fuller at or stop in the Bookstore on Sundays.
