Letter from Rev. Jon

Dear Members and Friends:
When the pandemic arrived and we were not able to gather in groups, we had to postpone the Dedication Services for our newly renovated church complex. Now that we have been back in the building for over a year it is time for us to start thinking about when we will celebrate our renovated and expanded space.
We have decided to set aside Sunday, October 2, 2022, as the day on which we will dedicate our building. We will have two identical services that day but start the second service a little later than the usual 11:15 a.m. so that we can have more time between services for the catered receptions. Watch for details on service times.
I have invited the Rev. Carlton Elliot Smith, the new UUA regional lead for the Pacific Western Region, to be our preacher that morning. And I have asked our UUA President, the Rev. Susan Frederick Gray, to send us a short video message we will play in the service. Special music is also being planned for that morning. We have invited representatives from both our architect and contractor firms to join us, too. And I am delighted that our extraordinary Building Team, the famous Physical Space Implementation Team (PSIT), can join us as well.
So, friends, save the date! Each Sunday I sit in our new space I think of all the many people who contributed so generously and creatively so that we, and future generations, could have a church home of such beauty and purpose.
Warmly,

Rev. Jon M. Luopa
