Lay Leadership Opportunities at UUC

Application deadline: March 1

The Leadership Development Committee (LDC) is currently seeking candidates for several lay leadership positions. From the applications received, the LDC will select a slate of candidates to present to the congregation for election at the annual meeting in June.

Without the involvement and commitment of lay leaders, the work and action of UUC would be impossible. Serving as a lay leader is an enriching experience: not only does it provide the opportunity to help UUC thrive and further its mission, it offers the chance to deepen your relationships within this beloved community.

We are seeking candidates for the following positions, with service to begin in July of this year. The descriptions below are intentionally brief. If you are interested in learning more or would like to recommend someone for an elected position, please send a message to LDC@uuchurch.org. The deadline for potential candidates to submit an application is March 1, 2022. We look forward to hearing from you!

Moderator, two-year term

Responsible for running congregational meetings, which occur once or twice a year.

Thank you, Sarah Walker, for serving as our Moderator these past two years! You have done an amazing job.

Board Trustee, three-year term (two positions available)

Responsible for setting policy, ensuring adherence to policies of the church, evaluation, and strategic planning—all in service to the mission of UUC. Our current Board Treasurer, Mike Kasprzak, will be ending his term of service this year, so if you or someone you know can offer skill in reviewing financial statements and monitoring policies and might be interested in serving on the Board, we want to hear from you. The other Trustee ending a second term on the Board is past-President Gayle Childers (who is currently serving as Secretary). Thank you, Gayle and Mike, for your dedicated service to this community!
