Coming of Age Service
Sunday, May 15, 9:30 and 11:15 a.m. in the chapel or via Zoom
Our annual Coming of Age (COA) worship service celebrates the rite of passage of our 9th and 10th grade youth, who are transitioning from childhood to the fullness of adolescence. COA meets throughout the year, connecting youth with adult mentors in the congregation and exploring rites of passage, big questions and Unitarian Universalism. The program culminates in a retreat weekend during which each youth undertakes a six hour solo vigil.
At this worship service, you’ll hear faith statements from each youth about their beliefs. Youth and mentors plan and facilitate this special service. Music by COA participants, the Intergenerational Choir, and Dwight Beckmeyer.
