All in the Family: Ann Bucher

Sunday, April 24, 10 a.m.–2 p.m., work party in Madrona Woods

We are saddened to share the news of the death of longtime member, Ann Bucher, who died on January 20 at the age of 90. She became a member of UUC in 1964, along with her husband, Jack Bucher, who predeceased her in 2007. Both were ardently active in Social Justice efforts at UUC, including the Sanctuary group and welcomed several Guatemalan refugees into their home. Ann was a horticulturist and started the Madrona Nursery at her home, and also volunteered regularly in the Madrona Woods.

Thus, this Sunday, April 24 from 10 a.m.–2 p.m. there will be a work party in her beloved Madrona Woods (38th Ave & E. Marion St. in Seattle) to create a memorial planting for her: an evergreen Celebration of Life for Ann.
