Youth Black Lives Matter Vigil

BLACK LIVES MATTER in black type on a bright yellow background

Sunday, May 23, 2 p.m. at UUC (outside)

Ongoing witness is still required every day to affirm that Black Lives Matter, and to protest police brutality.

Please join the Racial Justice Team and Religious Education for a youth-focused Black Lives Matter Vigil. Youth are invited to take leadership roles in the vigil. People of all ages are welcome, and families with children are particularly encouraged to attend. We will take extra care to stay physically distanced during the vigil. Please wear a mask, bring your BLM signs if you have them (we will also have some available), and use the bathroom before you arrive.

We will start the vigil on the UUC plaza at 2 p.m. We will gather to reflect, renew our commitment and Say Their Names to remember Black, Indigenous and other People of Color who have been killed by police. Then we will move up to the street with our signs and walk around the block.

If you are a youth who would like a leadership role at the vigil, please contact Melody Moberg. If you have questions about BLM vigils at UUC, please contact Dinah Hartley.
