The Songs Are Free

Bernice Johnson Reagon

Friday, March 12, 7–8:45 p.m. via Zoom

In honor of Women’s History Month, join us for a 30th-anniversary screening of the documentary The Songs Are Free: Bernice Johnson Reagon and African American Music. This hour-long film profiles one of the founding members of Sweet Honey in the Rock and includes inspiring live performances, archival footage, and interviews with Bill Moyers. The viewing will be followed by a discussion facilitated by Cecelia Hayes, who brings her passion and deep experience guiding equity and social justice conversations.

Email for the Zoom meeting link. Because this is an educational showing of a privately-owned copy, it is not being advertised to the general public.
