Second Sunday Plate on February 14

A crowd of smiling young people holding a banner: "We Have The Right To GOOD JOBS AND A LIVEABLE FUTURE"

On this Valentine’s Day, you are invited to send some love to the Earth and the young activists organizing for our planet’s future. This Sunday, UUC’s youth group has chosen to dedicate our offering plate to the Seattle hub of the Sunrise Movement. Across the nation and here in Seattle, this youth-led movement has been organizing for the Green New Deal, to elect politicians who care about climate change, and to pressure politicians to take bold moves for the environment and jobs.

From the national website, “The Sunrise Movement is a youth movement to stop climate change and create millions of good jobs in the process. We’re building an army of young people to make climate change an urgent priority across America, end the corrupting influence of fossil fuel executives on our politics, and elect leaders who stand up for the health and wellbeing of all people.”
