Letter Writing to LGBTQ+ Incarcerated Folks

Sunday, December 12, 10:30–11:15 a.m. and 12:15–1 p.m. in Emerson

New Zealand postage stamp: PRIDE 2021 $1.40 with trans-black-brown-rainbow design

The UUC Racial Justice Team invites you to come downstairs to Emerson after either service to write a card and send some love this holiday season to queer incarcerated folks through the organization Black & Pink. We choose to honor the inherent worth and dignity of incarcerated people, a population that is disproportionately made up of people of color and LGBTQ+ folks. Come write a postcard and/or learn more about becoming a pen pal to an incarcerated member of the UU Church of the Larger Fellowship through the Worthy Now Prison Ministry. All ages welcome.

If you’d like to send a card but won’t be at church on December 12, please email Kira McCoy and/or Maddie Smith, UUC Racial Justice Team Co-chairs, at kiramccoy11@gmail.com and smithmaddie709@gmail.com.
