Getting Black Lives Matter Into the City Budget
Tuesday, March 30, 6–7 p.m. via Zoom
A Presentation on Participatory Budgeting
A local branch of the Coalition of Anti Racist Whites (CARW) will present on the City of Seattle’s participatory budgeting process beginning soon. CARW was asked by the Black Brilliance Research Project (BBRP) to lead workshops and raise awareness about the process. BBRP has spent the last 8 months researching what creates true community safety to inform the $30 million Black-led participatory budgeting process (which begins soon).
The goal of the presentation: attendees come away feeling comfortable sharing about participatory budgeting with neighbors. After the presentation, we’ll have 15 minutes to discuss potential action steps for UUC.
Put on by UUC’s Racial Justice Team.
