Anti-Racism Parent Book Group
First and third Sundays of the month, mostly online, 8:00-9:30 p.m., beginning October 17
Sign up now to join the Anti-Racism Parent Book Group! Parents of children of all ages are invited to participate in this year’s Anti-Racism Parent Book Group, co-facilitated by Aria Curtis and Roberta Ray. Building on last year’s reflection and discussion, we will read Raising White Kids: Bringing up Children in a Racially Unjust America by Jennifer Harvey and How to Be an Antiracist by Ibram X. Kendi. Sessions will also include materials from My Grandmother’s Hands: Racialized Trauma and the Pathway to Mending Our Hearts and Bodies by Resmaa Menakem, MSW, LICSM, SEP. Other supplemental materials will include children’s books, music, podcast excerpts, and video. As our shared reflection continues, this group will also begin to focus on action over the course of the year.
