UUA General Assembly Online-Only in 2020
To respond to concerns about the possible health impacts of a large physical gathering this summer, the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) has made the decision to hold its annual meeting, General Assembly (GA), entirely online this year. The event will still take place June 24-28, and will as always offer multiple activities for learning, connecting, inspiring and supporting one another, and conducting the business of the Association.
Anyone may attend GA, and member congregations (including UUC) have the right to appoint voting delegates to represent them in the business meetings of the Association. Some GA events are open to the public, others are open only to registered participants. A one-price-fits all registration fee is in place this year: $150 per person for delegates and non-delegates alike. To find out more about General Assembly and to register, visit https://www.uua.org/ga. (Please note that the GA webpages are still being updated to reflect the change to “virtual” gathering.)
If you are planning to register and attend GA online this summer and are interested in serving as a UUC delegate or alternate, please review the general information for delegates, then contact Janine Larsen, UUC Director of Ministries. Janine will compile a list of potential delegates for the UUC Board’s review and appointment. GA Delegates must be members in good standing of UUC in order to serve as a delegate to GA.
