Report From the Last Conversation With the Board
Following our Sunday service on November 22, we offered a “Conversation with the Board” to hear from you about how UUC is doing during the pandemic in terms of our mission and vision efforts. About 30 people attended this session, including all Board members and our ministers. Following is a very brief recap of the common themes expressed in this session:
- Much appreciation was expressed for the steady presence of the church, as it continues to be a place of comfort and consistency in uncertain times.
- The opportunity for social connection at UUC has been very important for people during this time.
- A few unmet needs or suggestions were voiced. One was the loss of multigenerational contact, particularly between adult congregants and children. Another was the loss of unstructured time/conversations in our online environment. And participants wondered how/if one might engage with others around areas of common interest for which there isn’t currently a group or forum.
The Board will continue to seek and use your input to ensure that we are progressing towards our mission and vision. Thanks to those who participated in our November 22 session, and please note that we will hold our next Conversation with the Board on Sunday, December 20 following our service.
