It’s my first time in this form field, on this site, so, I’m testing it out with my screen reader. I like that some of the photos have descriptions; very useful for those of us who are visually impaired, so, good on that. I look forward to when we can resume our services, hopefully with our usual coffee and refreshments; I realize that it’s all for our safety; it just caught me off guard, like, I was and continue to be grateful that we had our service, yesterday, and brought my lunch and coffee, but, this is the first time in my lifetime, that such a thing has caused so many closures, so suddenly, and yet, a while after the first we’d heard about it on the news; first, The STAR Center, then our services in our wonderful, new home building. A mere acquaintance told Mom and me that he didn’t think that we’d be back to normal routine until late into next year; I truly hope he’s mistaken, and that we may return in April; already a long time for me! Furthermore, I hope that this thing doesn’t ruin it for Folk Life and for some of the church’s various retreats, travel plans, etc. I’ve always had difficulty with such kinds of interruptions in anything that I’ve gotten used to, and I believe that I’m not alone in this, but, as beautiful and yet bitter sweet as yesterday’s service was, I’m keeping my fingers crossed, among other things, that we will have more than 3 months in our beautifully renovated building. Meanwhile, I continue to hope for the well-being of all, including staff and members of University Unitarian Church. Sincerely, Later, Lisa Maurer.
