Message from Beth
“We are each other’s harvest;
we are each other’s business;
we are each other’s magnitude and bond.”
Dear UUC community,
How is it with your spirits?
Collectively, we are in uncertain and vulnerable times. This is made all the more challenging by not being able to congregate together in our building. As you have heard, one of the vital ways we care for one another right now and reduce the rate of infection is to maintain physical distance and reduce in-person contact. However this does not mean that the community is canceled. Our community continues on and we recognize that the need for one another is as strong as ever.
University Unitarian’s ministers, staff, and lay leaders have been working together to create opportunities to stay connected, not only through on-line Sunday service, but also throughout the week using Zoom. Please see below for opportunities and ways to connect online with small groups and keep watching the website, Gateway, and Facebook for more groups as they pop-up.
This pandemic not only poses health risks, but is affecting or will affect many financially. At UUC we keep a sharing fund to support members in times of need. It is funded by the generous donations of UUC members and is the dedicated plate each Christmas Eve.
If you are needing financial assistance, please contact Rev. Jon or Rev. Beth for support from UUC’s Sharing Fund. If you would like to donate to the Sharing Fund, you can make a gift to UUC through your UUC Connect profile by selecting Special Plate Collection. You can also send a check or call the office for assistance.
UUC’s Care Team and Ministers are also here for you when you are in need of a listening ear and emotional support. Please email the Care Team (firstname.lastname@example.org) or call (206) 454-7722 to connect.
Please know how much Rev. Jon, myself, and all of UUC’s staff are thinking about you right now. Please know that you are held in love by this community. Together, we will make our way.
