Rough cupped hands gently holding a cardboard cutout of a house

Lake City Partners Ending Homelessness reports that the new 24/7 enhanced shelter at “The Oaks” is expected to open between January 21–31, 2021. The shelter will begin serving 20 people, likely those who have been coming to the rotating Winter Shelter regularly so far this winter. They will gradually expand to serve about 60 guests from the north end of Seattle as well as Shoreline, Kenmore, and Bothell. Work on the building continues, and we expect there will be more opportunities for volunteer painters soon. This is a great activity for single people or small family groups. All supplies are provided, and work proceeds with social distance protocols in place. If you are interested, send your contact information to volunteer@lakecitypartners.org and they will get back to you.

We are also offering opportunities for people to sign up to provide dinner/breakfast on Saturday, January 9, Friday, January 15, and Monday, January 18 (MLK Jr. Birthday). If you would like to volunteer for a meal, contact Sallie Dacey at dacey.sallie@gmail.com, or 206-409-4749.

Thank you for your support of vulnerable people in our community.
