The Immigrant Justice Team invites you to try out a Community Action Circle. It’s an innovative way for activists to engage in meaningful actions and community connection, and it’s all online! By the end of this workshop, you’ll have had an opportunity to sign a petition, call a legislator, and write a letter, all while supported by your UUC community. You’ll learn about efforts like the push to release those at highest risk of coronavirus from immigration detention, and the grassroots effort to include those who are undocumented in COVID-19 relief.

Several of us attended an Action Circle, led by the Unitarian Universalist Service Committee (UUSC) and the UU College of Social Justice, and we want to bring this opportunity to UUC. This Community Action Circles will focus on immigrant justice priorities identified by our immigrant-led partners. All participants are asked to join via Zoom, be actively engaged throughout, and stay for the entire time. The design fosters active sharing and community-building, plus opportunities to act!

Registration details

  • Each participant must register and have access to their own computer. The interactive nature does not allow couples or families to participate from a shared screen. And, unfortunately, it does not work from an iPad or phone.
  • Plan to be engaged and focused — This is not one of those Zoom events where you can sit back and just listen, or multi-task. You will be actively engaging with the facilitators and other participants.

Zoom details will be provided once your registration is confirmed.
