Exploring UU & UUC: Registration is Now Open
We’ve set the dates for the next opportunity to take our four-session “Exploring UU and UUC” course. This will be held via Zoom, since our building is still closed, but we hope that we might still offer tours of the building (and a chance to sign the actual Membership book), by the end of the course.
Register now (via UUC Connect – you don’t need to have an account to register for this event). Scheduled dates are on the following Sunday afternoons, from 1:30–2:30 p.m.
- December 6 – Session 1 – Foundations: UU History, Theology & Worship, Covenant & Polity with Rev. Jon Luopa
- December 13 – Session 2 – Identity & Calling: Being and Becoming the Beloved Community with Rev. Beth Chronister and the UUC Equity Team
- January 10 – Session 3 – Stewardship & Growth: Giving, Service, Learning and Relationship with congregational leaders & staff
- January 17 – Session 4 – Connection & Engagement: a chance to meet small group leaders and connect with UUC activities and programs that might be of interest to you
There will be reading and resources assigned before each class, which will help us make the most of the hour-long sessions.
This course will be valuable to those new to UUC as well as long-time members and friends who would like to learn more about Unitarian Universalism and how we live it out in this church. The classes fulfill the education requirement for UUC membership, but no one is required to become a member after completing the course – this is a decision we encourage everyone to take seriously. It’s important to explore UUC and feel satisfied with your process of discernment before committing to taking on this important role as a steward of the church. (For more information about church membership, see www.uuchurch.org/membership or contact Janine Larsen, Director of Ministries.)
