Economic Justice Team Meeting
Sunday, December 27 at 11 a.m. via Zoom

The Covid-19 pandemic and our federal government’s response to it have exacerbated our extreme economic wealth and income inequality. Stock markets hit new highs, but these are increasingly desperate times for many. With an impasse in negotiations on a second federal Covid-19 stimulus package, 12 million workers risk losing unemployment benefits and many renters risk being evicted after the eviction moratorium expires on New Year’s Eve.
Locally we are volunteering to help feed people seeking aid from the Lake City Partners Ending Homelessness (LCP) . We are also helping LCP refurbish a 69-room facility to shelter more people in a new location on Aurora in Shoreline. Read more about LCP’s new facility here. Learn about volunteering here.
We are looking forward to the Statewide Poverty Action Network virtual lobby day on January 18. Click here to learn more and/or register.
All are invited to attend our December 27 meeting as we plan action to respond to economic injustice in our world.
