Blood Drive a Success
On August 31 and September 1, UUC hosted a new Bloodworks Northwest ‘Pop-Up Donor Center.’ The were able to collect 71 units of blood, which will help save the lives of up to 213 patients in our community since each donation is separated into three components: red cells, platelets and plasma. There were 14 first-time donors. (Let’s hear it for the newbies!)
From Bloodworks Northwest: It really takes a village to make blood drives a success, so aside from thanking our donors, we would like to say a special thank you to the University Unitarian Church for supporting our blood program and providing a convenient place for people to donate.
We look forward in coming back at the end of October.
