The End (of the Current Pledge Year) is Nigh!

As we start June, it’s time to ensure that all gifts toward operating pledges of support for the 2018-19 church year will be given by the end of the month. UUC’s fiscal year ends June 30, and only contributions made by this date will support the operating expenses of the current fiscal year. Gifts in fulfillment of 2018-19 pledges that are given on or after July 1 will satisfy your outstanding pledge, but the money will be used to offset expenses in the 2019-20 church year. They will not count toward the bottom line for the 2018-19 church year.

If you need a reminder of the status of your pledge, you can contact Chris Budd, or you can review your giving online at the (new) member website. If you would like assistance getting up and running with the member website, please contact Jessica Monahan (206-454-7710) at the church office or at Meadowbrook on Sunday mornings.

Gifts in support of current operating pledges can be made by personal check, bill pay through your bank, grants from donor-advised funds, IRA charitable distributions, gifts of stock, and even cash! (Please use an offering envelope from an usher on Sunday to record your name with a cash gift so it can be assigned to your pledge.) If you wish to make a gift online with a credit or debit card, or through an auto-withdrawal from a bank account, you can use the UUC giving page or the ACS Connect app on your mobile device. Please contact the church office if you need assistance with setting up an online gift or using the ACS Connect app. (Note that with our database change in progress, the Church Life app no longer supports online giving.)

In September, I will be reporting out to the congregation the closing figures for the 2018-19 fiscal year, including the percent of pledges fulfilled by June 30. This will tell us whether gifts in fulfillment of pledges, along with other revenue sources, were enough to cover budgeted expenses for the year. Please consider your important role in UUC’s successful conclusion to another exciting year of worship, ministry, and community. And thank you!
